The first single from Bruce Springsteen's 24th album, Working on a Dream, is now streaming online.

Bruce Springsteen's latest single, "Working on a Dream," is now streaming at the website of New York's classic rock radio station Q104.3. The song is from Bruce's upcoming album of the same name that is due out on January 27th.

Story Behind Working on a Dream

"Working on a Dream" sounds very similar to material off of Bruce's latest release with the E-Street Band, Magic. It is a glimmering piece of pop-rock with a strong chorus, twinkling piano, jangly guitars, and a host of backing vocals. And it seems that the similar tone of the song may be due to the fact that it was written and recorded close to the time of the Magic sessions with the same producer.

Bruce explains, "Towards the end of recording [the last album], excited by the return to pop production sounds, I continued writing. When my friend producer Brendan O'Brien heard the new songs, he said, 'Let's keep going.' Over the course of the next year, that's just what we did, recording with the E Street Band during the breaks on last year's tour. I hope Working on a Dream has caught the energy of the band fresh off the road from some of the most exciting shows we've ever done. All the songs were written quickly, we usually used one of our first few takes, and we all had a blast making this one from beginning to end."

Bruce Springsteen to Play Super Bowl Half-Time

It was also recently announced that Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band will be playing this year's Super Bowl Half-Time Show. The band will be following in the footsteps of other rock legends like Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, and Prince, but with their legendary status as a formidable live force the band should have no problem rising to the Half Time challenge.
